Our final week in India. Started in Jodhpur, location of the Jodhpur Fort and Jaswant Thada—sort of the girl version of the Taj Mahal, this one a Maharani built for her Maharajah. Moved on to Jaisalmer, location of Jain Temples and Havelis, or old mansions. This is also where we rode camels out to the sand dunes at sunset and where we stayed in a fort-like hotel, very beautiful and very uncomfortable. On the drive to Udaipur we stopped in Ranakpur, location of the most elaborate Jain Temple—a sight worth the drive. In Udaipur, location of many man-made lakes there is the City Palace, but no palace is as majestic as our hotel, the Udaivilas.
